Congo Natty - Revolution In Dub (DJ Madd Remix)
Heard this one on nickel and dime radio. Big up to friend, activist and selektor Jim Dier (DJ SmallChange) who heads up that show on WFUM (Brooklyn Community Radio) every week. He's clearly all about that change, mad or small. Keep On!

Tomorrow's People - Open Soul - 1976
"The group is comprised primarily of 4 brothers (with 2 additional members joining shortly before the recording of the LP). The A-Side is solid, including a fat break on the first track “Lovers To Friends“, but for me it’s all about the A-Side’s title track “Open Soul” – a beautiful, epic 20 minute journey that takes the listener on a funky, spiritual, psychedelic ride.
I feel that in the studio a basic groove had been laid down and from there they all got loose and free. Every player has a chance to solo, with the sax and percussion breakdowns being particularly ill. I feel it’s a great example of one of those tracks that transcends any one certain genre or style – a track that works in a variety of settings and one that anyone could get “open” to.
Aside from being included on the CD version of Mr. Peabody’s excellent Real Sound of Chicago compilation a few years back, this album has largely remained under the radar and extremely difficult to obtain, until now.
“Open Soul”. Deep in South Chicago, a band of four brothers raised on doo-wop and flea-market instruments made a record during the mid 70s that did not only mark aseminal point in their youthful careers, but would go on to become a true collector’s favourite. “Open Soul” is quite simply one of the best examples of raw, stripped down soul in its purest form, and for this reason has become a highly sought after rarity.

The Temptations 'Psychedelic Soul' [HD] with Playlist
One of the best albums ever released. Far removed from the image people associate them with. this isn't your 60s, family friendly 3 minute love song temptations. This is Psychedelic Soul kicking your door down during the madness of the Vietnam era and funking you up.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk "Seasons" in Montreux 1972
I feel like this is one of the most "RRK" tracks that exist because he is such a wizard. From the great album: "Prepare Thyself To Deal With A Miracle". He literally dreamed his way into playing 3 saxes at once and ended up arguably the most exciting jazz soloist ever. Yet, he is rather unknown and BLIND almost his whole life. Sounds like all the makings of a magic man/wizard to me. This track has that almost medieval feel to it so I feel it suits his whole persona so well. Dude was all about MadChange and in fact disliked the word "Jazz". He preferred "Black Classical Music", which in all honest is a better, more articulate genre and Jazz must be seen as just that. If you've never seen the entire footage of this concert "Live in Montreux 1972" do yourself a favor but, prepare thyself to deal with a miracle... Also, check out the documentary "3 sided dream" about RRK, so well done.

What a Soul tune! I've never heard this underground banger, just had the luxury of hearing it in a cafe and shazammed the hell out of it. Let MadCoins be your personal shazam.

Ossie D, Stevie G - Just Be Nice + Dub
Big Choon right here from 1986. Very rare record if you are lucky enough to track down the tan sticker in middle instead of the blue. "Just Be Nice", or in Vonnegut's words, "goddammit you've got to be kind". Happy we've changed from the cold war years threats that are referenced in this song. Not happy we are creeping closer to fascism. Maybe it's time for Ossie D to cut another record...
